The 2018-2019 Field Trips kicked off with our annual visit to Conner’s A-Maize-ing Acres which is located in Hilliard, FL. Each year our students step out of the city into the country where they have good, clean fun on the farm! The farm opens for a month and a half every year during the Fall season and our students are able to enjoy activities like the pedal cart track, petting zoo, playgrounds, rubber ducky races, horseshoes, volleyball, hayrides and a “cow train” made up of adorable little black and white cars. There are “corn boxes,” the equivalent of sand boxes, but loaded with a half- ton of dried corn kernels, which makes a great sensory activity for our students! Our trip to the corn maze was no less than, ahem, a-maize-ing. The students, staff and families dug into sensory corn pits, climbed tall mountains, and drove pedal carts. The running, rolling and romping fun at the farm resonates with our students (and staff) in a special way.
Thank you to Conner’s for making this a truly special event. We can’t wait for next Fall!
