New Campus Campaign
In 2005, when Mark & Michelle Dunham founded the school for their son Nicholas, about 1 in 250 children were diagnosed with autism. Today, 1 in 50 children are diagnosed with autism according to the CDC. * These numbers are staggering.
To meet the needs of these ever-growing numbers, our long-term goal is to create a Life Span Model. Life span services are critical to support our aging population of young adults and secure their future is full of hope and independence. Our vision for this program is to provide a live-on-campus community where the lifespan participants would be employed by JSA, working in the gardens, serving lunch, providing custodial services, filing paperwork, assisting with the enrichment programs and more. This safe space community will not only empower the lifespan participants, but also encourage the younger students as they can envision future successes for themselves.
This program would offer the following integrative and life-span services:
- Applied Behavior Analysis
- Early Childhood Development
- Post Vocation
- Employment Training
- Social Programs
- Community Engagement
The most urgent need for this program is to secure a land donation of 20-30 acres that will provide interstate access to support our families in six counties across Northeast Florida.
