National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) celebrates the contributions of America’s workers with disabilities past and present and showcases supportive, inclusive employment policies and practices. NDEAM recognizes the importance of roles people with disabilities play in a diverse and inclusive American workforce!
We would like to extend our congratulations to JSA student, Antonio, for recently being hired at Bitty & Beau’s Coffee! Antonio is a current student in the JSA STEP Program (Supportive Transition and Enrichment Program). The STEP Program is designed to provide young adults the skills necessary to be successful and productive members in both their home and community. Our goal is to discover each student’s individual interest and tailor a program of learning opportunities that could become future employment opportunities. With the help of JSA staff, Antonio has completed On the Job Training (OJT) which helps people with differing abilities to get acclimated to the employment environment while gaining valuable work experience.
Bitty & Beau’s Coffee is creating meaningful and impactful opportunities for individuals with differing abilities! Antonio has expressed for quite some time that he wants a job and wants to earn his own money. We are so proud of you Antonio!
THANK YOU to Bitty & Beau’s Coffee for being an advocate for the value, acceptance, and inclusion of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities!
Bitty & Beau’s Coffee is not yet open for business but will be soon at 1965 San Marco Blvd.
Stop by, grab a coffee and say hi to Antonio! #jsakids #autisminaction #inclusionmatters #NationalDisabilityEmploymentAwarenessMonth
