JSA Begins Summer Camp

Welcome Back Staff and Students! This week kicked of our first week Summer Camp. We couldn’t be happier to see all the student’s smiling faces gracing the hallways of JSA again.

Nature was the theme this week and the students started out the week with an outdoor scavenger hunt. They were given a paper bag with pictures of the items they were to find. A few items found were grass, flowers, bark, ants, spider webs and birds! They then brought the items back into school and made a recyclable art project by using their skills to paint and press the items onto contact paper. The end result was a beautiful framed “Nature” picture.

Connecting Thru Music made their debut this week to offer music therapy and music experiences to our students. They are providing enhanced learning that will incorporate singing, playing or moving along to favorite songs.

This week was not all work and no play! The students were able to go on an adventure to the Sunray Cinema! The students piled onto the big JSA Bus and headed to see the 1982 classic The Last Unicorn. The end of the week was super fun because the students were able to play with the sprinklers, water mats and cool off with a sweet treat from Kona Ice!

What a whirl-wind week we have had … more to come!
